Fremont

I was gonna post about my adventures yesterday, but I just got an email back from the apartment lady and... I got it!  I will have to sign the lease next week to make it official, but the place should be mine on March 1st!  Woohoo!

Yesterday my aunt had her fiddle lesson in Fremont which is a funky little neighborhood of Seattle.  I tagged along and explored the area while she did her lesson.  That had lots of little shops, cafes, and community art.

According to the sign, Fremont is the "Center of the Universe"

I stopped into a small independent chocolate factory and snacked on some free samples.  You could smell the roasting cocoa beans (organic and fair trade, of course) from a block away.  My aunt and I scheduled a factory tour in two weeks so that should be a super fun and delicious outing.

After her lesson was over we met back up for lunch.  Out of the 12 or so restaurants that were in the neighborhood, I think six of them were Thai so that seemed like a good bet.  They had my favorite, pumpkin curry, and it was amazing!  The only problem was that after a big, warm lunch all I wanted to do was take a nap :)

This weekend we are heading up to the cabin for Superbowl festivities so I'm sure I'll have some nice mountain pictures to post when I get back.

  2. You went to see the troll under the bridge! That is my cousin's favorite place in Seattle. Haha! Fremont is great. Wonderful little shops and restaurants. Your pictures and stories are making me want to come back out to Seattle! Congrats on the new apartment!

  3. You'll have to tell Fremont that they aren't "the center of the universe." Another little town just north of Richmond has that claim to fame. Ashland, VA has a trademark on it!
