Job Description

I don't know if this clarifies things at all about my new job, but this was the posted job description that I applied for at Dendreon:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist I who will help in establishing a process/technology transfer program for Dendreon’s Clinical Immunology group. The successful candidate will work with Clinical Immunology Staff to immediately identify pertinent standard operating procedures (SOP), and related documents and processes to transfer, and implement, at Dendreon’s immunotherapy manufacturing facilities and to external contract research organization (CRO) and contract manufacturing organizations (CMO). The process/technology transfer will support the immune monitoring and product characterization endeavors for Dendreon’s clinical trials.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the technical and regulatory demands of pharmaceutical product development and participate in the development of novel cancer immunotherapies based on a proven technical platform.

General Summary:
• Works with Clinical Immunology’s Associate Director to establish Clinical Immunology’s process/technology transfer program
• The process/technology transfer program will implement Clinical Immunology SOP, and related documents, to Dendreon IMF and external CRO/CMO
• Serves as subject matter expert for interdepartmental meetings and internal consultant related to Clinical Immunology process/technology transfer efforts.
• Implements solutions to assess the qualification, validation and continuous process monitoring principles and concepts, to transferred processes/technology

I know that it's not really a bench laboratory position and it will require a fair bit of travel to various production facilities across America and Europe.
